On the command line
scmjs is scmJS in a terminal: it reads, checks, changes and shares maps and replays
without the editor's window. It needs Node.js 22.12 or newer. Run it without installing:
npx @scm-js/cli info "(2)Ridge.scx"
or install it once with npm install -g @scm-js/cli and type scmjs from then on. The
commands that draw a map or run the game read your StarCraft folder directly, so they need
no extracted graphics. The command line guide has the rest.
Without Node, each release also has scmjs as a single program with Node inside it:
scmjs-cli-windows-x64.zip, scmjs-cli-macos-arm64.tar.gz, scmjs-cli-macos-x64.tar.gz
and scmjs-cli-linux-x64.tar.gz on the releases
page. Unpack it and put scmjs
(scmjs.exe on Windows) in a folder on your PATH, or install it with
scoop install scmjs (after
scoop bucket add scm-js https://github.com/scm-js/scoop-bucket),
winget install scm-js.scmjs or brew install scm-js/tap/scmjs. Like the app it is not
code-signed, so Windows and macOS ask once before running it: see Without
Node.
